Workplace mindfulness contributes to the creation of environments in which employees feel nurtured and included, organizations innovate and flourish and where leaders are empowered to shift from daily firefighting and attention deficit culture issues to a more focused and productive way of leading. This session is an opportunity for professionals at all levels to experientially explore mindful leadership training as a discipline that cultivates one’s innate ability to be authentic, resilient, productive, focused, and compassionate for self and others.
Michelle possesses a Ph.D. in Human Resource Education and Workforce Development from Louisiana State University, a Masters of Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University and a Bachelor’s in Speech Communication from Louisiana State University. Michelle is a certified Professional in Talent Development, a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources through SHRM and HRCI, a certified Master Instructional Designer, and a certified DISC Behavior and Motivators Analyst. Michelle has over 25 years of professional work experience in the field of Human Resources and Organizational Development. Michelle’s research work on disaster management of human resources and workplace implications resulting from disaster was published in 2007.
Michelle currently serves as the Director for LSU Executive Education and as a faculty member within the E.J. Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University and the College of Human Sciences and Education at Louisiana State University. LSU Executive Education designs and delivers cutting-edge professional development programs. As a college faculty member Michelle has taught Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Change Management, Employment Law, Diversity, Strategic Human Resource Management, Total Rewards Planning, Talent Recruiting, Principles of Workforce Development, Career Flow, Needs Assessment, Training and Development, Creativity and Innovation for Entrepreneurs and, Principles of Management courses at Louisiana State University and Southeastern Louisiana University.
Michelle also serves as the Director of the CFP® Board Registered Professional Educational Programs offered by LSU, directs the LSU100, a competitive program designed to recognize the 100 fastest growing LSU alumni led businesses each year and, directs LSU’s Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Military Veterans. Michelle has experience as an entrepreneur herself in having owned and operated both a fitness and yoga studio and a Human Resources consulting firm.
In addition to her professional work and teaching, Michelle is also a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher, a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer, and a MindBody certified pilates instructor.
