What roles will self-awareness play in closing the skills gap in today's organizations?

    By: Karen Goodridge, PhD

One of the greatest development gaps in the workplace is soft skills. Closing this gap is vital as soft skills impact employers, employees, and customers. The foundation to closing the soft skills gap is self-awareness.  Employees are able to look at issues with increased objectivity and the role they may have played in creating them. Becoming more self-aware in the workplace allows employees to better relate to colleagues, direct reports and superiors, creating a more collaborative environment. For this session, the True Colors Assessment and a Transactional Model will be used to realize, understand more clearly each personality and communication style, grow more self-aware and shrink the gap.
