    Jennifer R. Aldridge, SHRM-CP, PHR


    GBR SHRM is pleased to announce Jennifer Aldridge, SHRM-CP, PHR as the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Human Resource Professional of the Year.  Jennifer is the Vice President of Human Resources Cox Communications in the Southeast region which includes operations in three states.  Since 2001 she has served our profession in various aspects of HR including recruiting, compensation, benefits, and employee and labor relations.

    Jennifer is a dynamic leader with a 16-year proven track record for success. The passion, dedication, and commitment she exhibits in her career is equally matched by her involvement in the community. As a servant-leader she focuses primarily on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which she serves.  Her style always seems to put the needs of others first by encouraging them to develop and perform at the highest levels possible.

    As a graduate of Louisiana State University’s MBA program, prior to earning her master’s degree, she received a BA in Psychology from Louisiana Tech University. She is a certified HR professional, maintaining both a PHR from the HR Certification Institute and a SHRM-CP from the Society for Human Resource Management.

    Not only is she an active member of the Greater Baton Rouge SHRM chapter, she is also an active member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). Jennifer was instrumental in the expansion of WICT’s Southeast chapter to include Louisiana and is actively involved in recruiting local cable professionals to join the organization, which provides resources and career development for women.

    Jennifer is a Leader within the Cox family where she is continuously tapped for one project after another for her innovative ideas, and incredible way to engage others.  Jennifer is a leader in the HR Community and actively serves as a mentor for those who have requested mentor-ship. Her experience as a HR professional, coupled with her outgoing personality make her the ideal mentor for an individual seeking to grow in their profession. When asking individuals in the mentorship program “what the benefit of the program was”, often the response is honest, critical, but essential feedback for my growth. Jennifer's mentorship to others have proven to be instrumental in their career growth and development.
